Our December has been filled with the anticipation of our little Miss E. Usually I blog a festive post about our holiday season, our decorations and our Christmas card : 2011 & 2012. This year we went simple with our decorations again so everything is set up just like 2012, no big tree, just homemade greenery on the staircase and fireplace. We also aren't doing a Christmas card because we will be sending out baby announcements as soon as our little one arrives. I have envelopes addressed and my template designed, all I need is a tiny pink baby and photos of her cuteness.
This season has been wonderful so far and it is only bound to get more beautiful upon our the arrival of our little one. But up until that point has been spent relaxing with my seasonal working husband who is off for a little while and preparing in every way possible for E. You can only organize and re-organize everything so many times, and clean so much during one week, but I have done it. I have been feeling pretty good, when you think that I have a 6-7 lb. baby inside me. There isn't much room left in there, so everything is getting more challenging, but it's a little life and I have the honor to carry her inside me until she is ready to come out!
I am as ready as a lady can be for labor. With my one labor book read, highlighted and studied I have some good techniques but am not overwhelmed with too much information. I have three hospital bags packed : B's with snacks, extra shirts, money and toothbrush, baby E's with take home outfit, burp cloths, baby book, onsies, hats and mittens & mine with a labor necessities, some hospital clothes for the stay and a comfy, Minnesota warm going home outfit! Now we wait patiently... I have never had such a practice of patience.
Happy eve of Christmas day to you and happy due date to us! Even though the due date is today we are fully aware that means nothing. But it does mean that today is the day to say Merry Christmas and to wish you the very best of holidays, surrounded by the ones you love and celebrating the birth of our Savior. It is such a beautiful time of year, that we get to give gifts to those around us in honor of the greatest gift we can receive. The love of a God that we do not deserve and yet we are gifted it anyway, everyday through His amazing grace.
Merry Christmas!
Happy New Year!
