This was a perfect May Saturday at Carlos Creek Winery in Alexandria, MN. Jenna and Andrew got married outside surrounded by friends and family that adore them and are so thrilled for their union! There were two tiny guests of honor, their dogs that appeared and they were adorable. It was an honor to capture their beautiful day!

It was a true honor to capture this wedding day. I have known the groom for ten years and he happens to be one of my husbands best friends. It has been so fun to watch them all grow up and find the beautiful women that God has called to be their wives, and Jessie is no exception. I met Jessie a little over a year ago. She is so easy to talk to, so real and such a perfect match for Justin. To be a part of this day and capture it was wonderful. It was a relaxed morning of getting ready and taking photos. Their first look was simple, just them and me sneaking behind to capture photos. They had a moment to take each other in and then closed their eyes in prayer. Then we started formal photos on this chilly 38º degree spring morning. The boys can not be serious for long and are always making each other laugh. The ring bearer and flower girl are their niece and nephew and are way too adorable for words. The ceremony was so simple and concentrated on the union of these two beautiful people and their God, with a unity cross to signify their joining followed by an intimate parents prayer. Then off to celebrate with good food, kind hearted speeches, and a few dances. I feel like I have to explain the photo of the boys with their shirts off, it is a tradition that started at our wedding and now it must continue. They were so excited to do it, even though it was freezing! And for the finale Justin and Jessie escaped through a cloud of confetti, headed to the warm sun of Jamaica.

Small town weddings, away from the city have such a simple beauty to them.Seeing a couple get married with their closest friend and family watching, supporting and cheering them makes my heart happy. This is Amanda and Jeremy, they got married in Starbuck, MN and celebrated the perfect union at the beautiful Lakeside Ballroom off of Lake Minneswaska in Glenwood. It was a joy to capture and an honor to be there!

Hannah and Bjorn are perfect for each other. I mean it. He looks at her so adoringly and she looks up to him and just shines. If you left them in a corner to talk, the laughs, whispers and little talks that erupted were picture perfect, literally. Their day was just as perfect. They were surrounded by their family who so evidently support this perfect union and friends who love both of them so much. The day started out calm and quit as the ladies all got ready at the bride's parents house then we all headed to Woodale Church in Edina for the ceremony. First looks were had, tears of pure joy were shed and after the I do flower petals were thrown. We ended the night at the beautiful MN Landscape Arboretum, where delicious food and cake was eaten, and beautiful tear inducing speeches were shared. The night ended with swing dance lessons and a live band to celebrate. Absolute perfection for a beautiful couple!

 

Shelby & Mike's Wedding | Duluth Wedding Photographer

It is known to be good luck when it rains on a wedding day. Along the shore of Superior in Duluth this beautiful couple said I do as the rain came down. Guests stood and were under umbrellas and everyone had the biggest of smiles and so much joy. We all got a little wet, but it was well worth it. By the end of the evening this couple was married, rain or shine and the pictures from the day turned out so unique and beautiful. The day came together perfectly, unique and perfect.

Here is a little sneak peek into a beautiful two night celebration of Amanda and James. The ceremony took place on a a perfect Thursday evening at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum followed by a Friday night celebration at Oak Hills Church in Eagan. My first chance to get to know them both, together, was the ceremony. The moments we spent together before with family and friends was beautiful. As we took formal photos and allowed them time alone and with those that they treasure the joy and love they have for one another and those around have for them was so evident and beautiful! It was an honor to tag along for these few hours to capture every moment of these picture perfect evenings.

This day came together perfectly. The bride paid such close attention to all the details and her floral theme inspired by the amazing Rifle Paper Co. The entire day took place at The Town and Country Club of St. Paul, it is a beautiful venue hiding right in the middle of the city. The bride, groom and I got to to go out on the grounds for a few moments before the ceremony and take some shots of just the two of them. These are always my favorite moments from the day because I get a peek into the beauty of their love, and the reason for this celebration. It was an honor to be apart of this day, to stand in the background and capture every moment, every flower, and every tiny detail!

This beautiful couple held to tradition and waited until the walk down the aisle to see each other for the first time that day. The nerves, smiles, and joy throughout the morning led to so many beautiful moments to capture. This August day was perfect, Olympic Hills Golf Club was a simply gorgeous backdrop for the days events. The evening finished with a night of dancing, fun photo booth and this beautiful couple surrounded by wonderful family and friends.

This beautiful wedding took place at St. Peters Historical Church and the celebration ended in a beautiful ballroom in downtown St. Paul at the Crowne Plaza. The joyful tears, smiles and laughs from the very first moments of this day were priceless. The way Amanda looked at Brad even when the camera wasn't up was so beautiful, with love and so much excitement for what this day holds and their lives together.

A sneak peak of a Friday afternoon spent celebrating the marriage of this couple at the historic Mill City Museum in downtown Minneapolis. The evening was filled with family, loving friends, good food, desert, dancing and laughs! My favorite pictures from wedding days are always the bride and groom. For this wedding my second favorite set of shots were from the bride/groom and parents dance. The laughs and biggest smiles were on the parents faces, laughing the entire song and enjoying every moment. Being able to see the love of so many generations was beautiful.

This beautiful Saturday started at Our Lady Of Grace Church in Edina. The bride and father of the bride had a special first look moment. It took place at the front of the school, by the big school bell, where Dad had dropped his little girl off years ago for her first day of school. They were both in tears, it was a beautiful moment to capture. The ceremony was perfect, and so personal. Followed by a beautiful celebration of this couples love at the Interlachen Country Club in Edina. The live band was amazing, we officially gave them a ten out of ten. Every moment of this day was flawless. It was a wonderful day to be apart of and capture every moment!

As I walked into the hotel room where this beautiful bride was getting ready I was welcomed by the biggest smile. Even though we had hours of outdoor photos planned along with an outdoor ceremony planned with the last week being rainy and today predicted to be no different, she was smiling. This made the rest of the day, she had faith the rain clouds would stay away, and they did, all day! This bride and groom had beautiful weather, not hot or humid, and the overcast was beautiful for perfectly lit photos, throughout the day. The wedding day took place at Rush Creek Golf Course, Maple Grove. It was a beautiful venue, and they were wonderful to work with.

Being along to capture this beautiful day I learned that these two love their families, love their friends and love each other. A winter wedding on January 19th at Minneapolis City Hall. Surrounded by their beautiful family and loving friends this adorable couple tied the knot in the center of City Hall. Oh the fun of a New Years Eve wedding that was planned in a month. I had the wonderful opportunity to work alongside the wonderful wedding planner Emily Schiesl. The night came together perfectly. It was a celebration of these two adoration and love for each other at Pinstripes, in Edina. Which was concluded by bocce, bowling, pizza and a countdown into the new year with a kiss and fireworks! The last wedding of the year, mid-November at the Women's Club Minneapolis. It was a perfect day, the weather was warm, the bride was beautiful and blushing. The couples day went off without a hitch and was perfect. The colors and simple flower decorations were breathtaking. And the little penguins on the cake topper give you the prefect insight to what a wonderful couple they are!

This absolutely beautiful wedding took place at the Horse & Hunt Club in Prior Lake Minnesota. As we pulled up to this unique venue we heard the sound of shot guns going off in every direction. The grounds to this hunt club are beautiful. With the small lake, wooded cabins, trees and reeds. This time of year with all the browns just adds to the beauty. When the ceremony started the sounds of guns faded as the couple said their I do's and did a tree planting. The details that this bride put together for this day were amazing, so simple and on theme. It was a wonderful evening and it was an honor to capture it all!

I moved to Minnesota 11 years ago and now call this place home but Kentucky will always be my home, the familiar streets and lovely faces that bring me back to my middle school years. My best friend, Bethany, is still there and even though we live 700+ miles apart we still keep in touch, and are closer then ever. Our trip this year was to celebrate a beautiful bride, the younger sister of Beth. But not only to Beth but I feel like to me as well. The day was filled was such an overwhelming amount of joy. Hannah is the sweetest, most compassionate, joyful person you will ever meet. Her eyes just light up when she looks at Chad and Chad treats Han like a queen. It was such a joy and privilege to be apart of, witness and capture their day for them.
