New Years Resolutions | Life

Happy New Years Day! I have been prepping this little post for a bit, all week thinking about what 2012 will hold. I really can't believe that 2011 is over, it seemed to go by so fast! It is so exciting to announce that I will be full time this spring. All photography all the time. Which means more time to have referral programs, to make awesome products and designs for me and other photographers, to be able to submit more work and get more publication! I really truly can't wait. We will be taking off for my second trip to India in the end of January, for 4-5 weeks of meetings/missions and spending time with the kiddo's from the children's homes + taking pictures of everything. SO excited to bring my d700 along!
New year resolutions... I believe Calvin and Hobbes have encompassed my true feelings about this. However I do have goals that I want to complete, to better myself, my home, my relationship with Christ and my career. So I wanted to share them, so: 1. I know where they are at the end of the year to check my progress 2. have people who support and encourage me, YOU!

New Years Resolutions Goals of 2012 :
Personal
0 craft more: camera straps, dolls (felt it up!), handbags (out of sheets and vintage fabrics), knit (new stitches!)
0 writing | pen & paper: I have a story that is in my head that I wanted to write down... it's a progress, & kiddos book : bible stories | illustrations (mixed media) & text (real and biblically written).
0 health: utilize that gym membership we recently purchased with pilates, running and weights.
0 read: I read fantasy like a mad women but I want to read: all Jane Austin, all C.S. Lewis, and all Anne Of Green Gables.
0 faith/God: live, love 100% for Him and His kingdom. Always look to the end goal of Christ's saving salvation and our eternity. I need to dedicate more time in my daily schedule to His word and His presence. This goal isn't an option but a must, my number one!

Photography/Contributing
0 expand my Etsy store: with vintage finds & with my own craftiness.
o newborn/birth photo: concentrate and expand newborn/birth clientele, offer more products (attempt more affordable products)
0 wedding: perfect welcome packet, get down to a 30 day turnaround, perfect album creation, offer unbelievable keepsake items.
0 continue with the bussiness mind set that I want to "bless people with the gift that God has blessed me with". I love what I do, and I fully realize that it is because of the grace of God that I got such a fun job.

In conclusion, the above comic sums up what it all comes down to. I read today on a wonderful photographers blog, Bluelily : "Stuff does not matter.  Family does.  All you need to be happy is one another, and forget the rest." And really it is SO true, if at the end of the year I check off one thing, all things or zero things as long as my family surrounds me and our love and will to live for Christ's purpose surrounds us, nothing else holds value.

God bless you in this new year and as always thank YOU for your support in following the blog and allowing me to capture your lives!
